5. DERIVATIVE FINANCIAL INSTRUMENTS

The gross notional amount of interest rate swap derivative contracts not designated as hedging instruments, outstanding as of June 30, 2022 and December 31, 2021, was €4.0 million ($4.2 million) and €5.8 million ($6.6 million), respectively.
